NQF Level 5 | 147 Credits | Occupational Certificate – Learning and Development Practitioner

The purpose of the NQF Level 5 Learning and Development Practitioner qualification is to prepare learners to plan, design, implement, and evaluate learning and development interventions within an organisational environment. Learners who complete this programme will gain the skills and knowledge required to support workforce development through effective training practices aligned to organisational goals and skills development strategies.

The qualification develops competencies in learning needs analysis, instructional design, facilitation of learning, assessment practices, and evaluation of training effectiveness. Learners will also build capabilities in learner support, workplace learning coordination, and compliance with relevant education, training, and quality assurance requirements. By acquiring these capabilities, learners will be equipped to enhance employee performance, support skills development initiatives, and contribute to organisational capacity building. They will be able to:

  • Analyse learning and development needs and plan appropriate training interventions

  • Design and facilitate effective learning programmes and training sessions

  • Conduct learner assessment and evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions

  • Support and coordinate workplace learning in line with organisational and regulatory requirements
